Further Air Corps AW139s return to service: Three Air Corps, AW 139s have now been returned to service following completion work in accordance with a Service Bulletin issued by the manufacturers. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) had issued an airworthiness directive (AD) on 25th August requiring the inspection and modification of all AW139 helicopters including six operated by the Corps. The aircraft returned to service include ‘276’ and ‘279’.

CASA completes 63rd Air Ambulance mission: The Air Corps completed another Air Ambulance mission on 7th November, its 63rd so far this year. Following the transfer of the patient from Kings Cross Hospital, London to RAF Northolt, they were flown by the Casa to Baldonnel for onward transfer by road to Our Lady Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. The roomy interior of the CASA and the ability to use its rear loading ramp makes it particularly suitable for this role. A standard ambulance trolley can be fixed in position for the flight and this means of transfer has been certified by the Air Corps.
