Monday the 31st October was another milestone in the history of FTEJerez when the first group of Emirates Airline cadet pilots graduated at FTEJerez. A further 8 Emirates cadets received their wings at the occasion. FTEJerez CEO Oscar Sordo presided over the graduation with Bernie Brennan, Head of Student Programmes as the Master of Ceremony. The first group of Emirates Airline cadets arrived at Flight Training Europe in May 2010 to commence their JAA Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) training. They were the first Emirates Airlines cadet pilots to undergo the more demanding JAA ATPL course. Previous cadets were trained in The newly qualified Emirates Airline pilots were presented with their wings by Captain Martin Mahoney, Senior Vice President Flight Training and Flight Operations assisted by Captain Abdulla Al Hammadi, the airline’s National Cadet Pilot Manager. Captain Mahoney presented the CEO and Derek Earp, FTEJerez’s Director of Operations and Head of Training with two magnificent scaled models of the Emirates A380 aircraft. In addition, Mohamed Al Hammadi was honoured for having done particularly well during his training at FTEJerez. Not only did he pass all 14 JAA theory exams at the 1st attempt but was assessed as 'exceptional' on both his Commercial Pilot Licence test as well as his final Instrument Rating test.
