CityJet newly appointed CEO Christine Ourmières has said that the airline will not launch any new routes over the next 12 months. Instead it will focus on building on profitability and quality service over the coming year rather than compete with low cost rivals and British Airways who operate a growing schedule out of London City. Routes announced in recent months include Stockholm, Copenhagen and Chambéry, and all of BA's services are now operated with new ‘next-generation’ Embraer 190 and 170 aircraft. CityJet operates its 14 London City routes with an older fleet of Avro RJ85s and Fokker 50s. The airline is however re-launching its London City - Deauville route as a winter destination from 7th January and introducing a revised schedule and a larger aircraft, on its Dundee-London City route. It is also upping its marketing efforts with a Facebook and regional ad campaign as well as a ‘satisfaction guaranteed’ trial service for its passengers. CityJet has a customer satisfaction rating of over 97%, is guaranteeing its customers will fly hassle free with them but if they don’t then they will get the opportunity to trial the airline’s service again – for free! To support the marketing campaign, CityJet launched a competition to find the next ‘face of CityJet’ to star in its advertising campaign. Using the airline’s Facebook fan page passengers were invited to upload their photos and their unique CityJet stories CityJet’s Facebook page. On 3rd December it was announced that Suzanne McMahon had won the competition and will become the next face of CityJet.
