Jarlath Conerney RIP

Postby Tony Kearns » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:43 pm

Jarlath passed away early today.
He served in the Air Corps and as an instructor in the Apprenctice School. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a more friendly and generous soul you will never meet. Rest gently Jarlath, friend.

Jarlarth was my instructor in the apprentice school back in the eighties and a finer man you would not meet. As a young apprentice Jack as he was known as always looked out for us and took great intrest in our careers. He had a memory of an elephant the last time I spoke to him about 6 months ago he was able to name most of my apprentice class. He was a true gent I promised him I would call to see him i am sorry to say i didnt get around to it. I am sure there will be a huge turnout to see him off and only right too. Mind you Jack never liked anyone making a fuss about him but I don't think he will get his way this time.

Very sorry to hear of Jarlath's passing. Just to add to the comments about one of life's gentlemen. He was so facilitating, obliging and always grateful for the slightest thing that anyone did for him. He was a truely dedicated member of RAeS for many years longer than I can remember, never ceasing to foster that organisation. May he rest in peace.
