Air Corps Cadetship 2009???

I am also interested in tha air corps cadetship and I have contacted both the air corps and the recruitment section of the defence forces. All I am hearing is that you will just have to wait until January. With the cutbacks and the recession and everything it is difficult to know. But, they are giving priority to Cadets and specialised careers. There is a new video on military.ie to promote careers in the air corps (pretty good vid actually)and a link to an interview with a pilot in the air corps just after being posted so fingers crossed, there will be a competition in 2009.

I was talking to a Commondant in the army barracks in Athlone and I asked him and he reckons that because they didnt take in anybody last year there is a high probability that they will take in people next year because the newest officers were commissioned in the summer (2008) and as it stands there will be no officers commissiond in 2010. If they dont take anybody in in 2009 then there will be none in 2011 either! Its just a waiting game!
